Editor’s Pick: Haoshi’s Swallow Wall Clock
Time flies with this sublime clock by Taipei designer Griffin Yang of Haoshi Design. For Griffin, this clock merges “the aesthetics of movement and silence.” A dozen flying swallows serve as the 12 numbers on a clock.
The pieces are made of matte white resin and hand-finished for detail. “Haoshi” is Chinese for “good things.” The goal: focus on the good details around us which might go unnoticed but shouldn’t since they bring so much joy. “So we add a kind of purity and peace in our design concept,” says Griffin. We fell for her and her joyful work, including her jewelry and Carousel Clock when we met her in New York in 2010.
