By now you have probably heard of the name Lupita Nyong’o as she is everywhere. Not only is she the ‘it’ girl of the moment with all the nominations and wins especially the latest awarded by SAG for best supporting actress, but she is also revolutionizing black style, African style in ways that are truly modern and refreshing. Case in point, her eye makeup is on a luxurious league of their own. What we love about her is that she is not afraid of colors and she wears eye shadows in hues that truly make her skintone radiate. Thanks to her makeup artist, Nick Barose, we have got the scoop on how to get the effortless eye make of this seriously stunning actress. For example do you love her smoky eyes, (thanks to instyle magazine) try blending the Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombre cream shadow in Fantasme (shown below) into your brow bone and define your crease with Troy Surratt Smokey Eye Baton in Fumee Noir. The Indigo eye color she wore at SAG was a major buzz this weekend and to get the look (thanks to nymag-thecut), Barose used Chanel LES 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in Fascination (a quartet of blue tones) along the inner corners of Nyongo’s eyes along with Chanel Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Amethyst(a warm purple) towards the outer corners and lower lash line (see the detail in zoom.) Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Liner in Violine, a deeper royal purple eyeliner, was used closer to the lash line and Chanel Le Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil in Pêche Cuivré used as a highlighter.
What ever eye shadow color you choose, I think it’s safe to say that you will radiate with star power if you choose what compliments your skintone.
