It is the second year that SALA is hosting the Africa Luxury & Wealth Summit, which will be taking place on the 4th of March 2014 in Cape Town, South Africa; with a variety of events being held around the Summit on the 3rd and 5th of March respectively.
The main conference day of the Summit on the 4th March seeks to explore the state of luxury and wealth in the South African and broader African market. By bringing together pioneers from the luxury and wealth management industry we aim to overcome the lack of formal research into this market by creating a platform to share key insights and knowledge. This year’s event promises to be one of the most significant gatherings of the world’s luxury and premium lifestyle brands.
The theme for this SALA Luxury Summit is African Growth Scenarios: Land of Rising Affluence, Possibility & Potholes?.
Previous speakers from past SALA forums, such as Mark Shuttleworth of Ubuntu, Maurice Hennessy of Hennessy International (LVMH), Suzy Menkes of the International Herald Tribune have illuminated various topics of interest with relevance to our members, clients and their esteemed guests. Topics have included the increasing environmental consciousness of luxury brands, an investigation of the trends shaping the online luxury landscape, the global promise of African luxury and the like.
This year there is a superb line up of high-ranking speakers including international heads of luxury businesses such as, Mr. Umberto Angeloni the former head of Brioni and current CEO of Caruso, Mr. Hans Ouwendijk, CEO of Vlisco, Greg Truen from SAOTA, Jonathan Berning from Ardmore, Tracey Chiappini Young of Taunina, to name a few.
